On a rainy Saturday, 40 Harmony Students came from across the city to KIPP Columbus High School for the first-ever Harmony Kids Retreat. The FREEDOM19 Retreat brought the students together for a day of music, art, reflection, and of course, fun.

Students began their day with an improvisation workshop by David Z. Price to get them out of their comfort zones. Next, the students participated in a workshop presented by Dr. Arianna Howard, rewriting traditional fairy tales and then beginning to write their own stories. After an amazing pizza lunch sponsored by Donatos and a karaoke party, the kids jumped right into their rehearsal. They ended the day identifying words that signified freedom, and put them into painting projects with Art with Anna.

The students will present a free-to-the-public concert at the Lincoln Theatre on Thursday, April 18, at 7pm. Doors open at 6:30.
