Program Director, Friends in Harmony
Peggy Meckling-Baker is a teacher, choir director, musician, singer, performer, and writer. She believes strongly that music should be accessible to all, that everyone should be able to enjoy making music, and that music and art can bring people together across social barriers. It’s a philosophy that led her to Harmony, first as a volunteer singer, then as Director of the Friends in Harmony outreach program, bringing people with differing abilities more fully into their community to strengthen voices and foster inclusion through fellowship and music. In addition to being a program director, Peggy provides vocal instruction for the Harmony Community Chorus. She says she is doing the most rewarding work of her life and is truly grateful for every opportunity she gets to do more of it.
