Avenue for All – Saturday, May 4, 10:00am – 5:00pm

Harmony Project volunteers have been invited to participate in the Avenue for All community festival by providing general event support and community assistance. South High Harmony will also perform during the festival.

Commons in Harmony at CD4AP – Tuesday, May 7, 10:00am-1:00pm

Harmony Project’s Commons in Harmony program will perform at CD4AP and volunteers will assist at the Free Store and Fresh Market.

Mural at South High School – Wednesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 9, 3:00pm – 7:00pm

Harmony Project volunteers will work alongside South High Harmony students to paint a large-scale mural on the third floor of the school, designed by Jeremy Jarvis of Jarvis Art Studios. South High Harmony students helped guide the theme of the mural by sharing words to describe their South High community, which will be incorporated into the mural design.

Ronald McDonald House – Family Activities and Mother’s Day Celebration –  Tuesday, May 7, 5:00pm – 7:00pm & Sunday May 12, 12:00pm – 2:00pm – Family Activities; Thursday, May 9, 5:00pm – 7:00pm, Mother’s Day Celebration

Harmony Project volunteers will work with RMHC staff to provide fun, family-friendly games and activities for the children and families, offering a welcome and therapeutic respite from the challenges they face daily.

Van Buren Shelter Meditation Garden Clean-up – Sunday, May 5, 10:00am – 2:00pm

In 2014, Harmony Project installed a Meditation Garden at Van Buren to provide an outside space for shelter guests to relax and reflect. Each spring, Harmony Project volunteers return to the Garden to weed, prune, and mulch.

Van Buren Shelter Meal Service – Friday, May 10, 4:00pm – 8:00pm

Harmony Project will assist with meal preparation, dinner service for the women and families, and clean-up after the meal.

Sullivant Gardens Community Center Beautification – Friday, May 10, 9:00am – 1:00pm and Saturday, May 11, 10:00am – 2:00pm

Harmony Project volunteers will work together to renovate and refresh the existing recreation center, initiate the reclamation of the new green space, and kick-off the creation of the park. We will plant flowers, shrubs and trees, remove invasive plant materials, and paint the rec center art room.

Community Refugee & Immigration Services Painting Project – Sunday, May 5, 1:00pm – 7:00pm

Harmony Project volunteers will provide fresh coats of paint to make the CRIS headquarters more welcoming and calming for their clients.

ETSS After-School Program Classroom Refresh and Painting Project – Thursday, May 9, 9:00am – 3:00pm

Harmony Project volunteers will redecorate the walls at the North 1 location, providing a fresh coat of paint and the application of words and phrases, selected by the students in the after-school program.

Lincoln Theatre Beautification – Monday, May 6, 9:00am – 1:00pm

Each spring, Harmony Project volunteers give the Lincoln Theatre some love by tending to the landscape beds surrounding the theatre, pruning hedges, and painting the curbs in the parking lot.
