By January 9, 2020In the News

Columbus, OH: Harmony Project announces the addition of Barbara Fant to its team. Considering Barbara’s extensive and impactful experience in the arts as a performer, writer, teacher, and mentor, Harmony has created a new role within the organization of Artistic Director.

“We are over the moon to have Barbara Fant joining our team,” said David Brown, Harmony’s Founder and Creative Director. “Barbara brings an artistic pedigree that is second to none, and an authenticity and honesty in her work that will resonate in the hearts and minds of all who participate in Harmony programs. Whether that is in a school classroom, a supportive housing community space, a prison, a corporate board room, or a rehearsal space in a local theatre, she will elevate the artistic experience of the thousands of people our work impacts each year. Barbara will have room to grow her vision for a stronger, more inclusive community while creating original and groundbreaking programs. Harmony is so fortunate to have Barbara’s artistic vision intersect with our own.”

“I am excited to join the staff of Harmony Project, one of the fastest growing arts organizations in the country,” Barbara said. For the past seven years, I have worked for The Columbus Foundation, where I learned what it takes to be mission-centered, how to strengthen our community’s nonprofit sector, and how to serve those who need it most through kindness. I look forward to expanding my artistic voice, and blending my personal gifts and professional experiences to enhance the Harmony community: schools, prisons, shelters, and places where artistry and creativity will allow the voices and lives of others to heal and grow.”

Harmony recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary, and was named one of Columbus’ Top Ten Nonprofit Arts Organizations by Columbus Underground.

The new role of Artistic Director is funded in part by the Eubanks-DeWitt Family Foundation of The Columbus Foundation.
